I am a lecturer, poet and writing tutor. I am subject leader for Primary English at the Graduate School of Education, University of Exeter. Love for Now (2012), my memoir of cancer, is available from Impress Books. My anthology Lifesaving Poems, based on my blog of the same name, was published in 2015 by Bloodaxe. I am editor of Creativity in Primary Education (Sage, 2015), and co-editor of Making Poetry Matter (Bloomsbury, 2013) and Making Poetry Happen (Bloomsbury, 2015) which was Highly Commended in the 2016 UKLA academic book of the year award. Deck Shoes, a book of prose, and The Afterlife, my fifth collection of poems, are forthcoming from Impress Books and Worple Press.
