The sixth poem in our Palestine Advent series is by Naomi Shihab Nye.
A Palestinian Might Say, by Naomi Shihab Nye.
Naomi Shihab Nye was born in St. Louis, Missouri. Her father was a Palestinian refugee and her mother an American of German and Swiss descent, and Nye spent her adolescence in both Jerusalem and San Antonio, Texas. Her many books include Tender Spot: Selected Poems (Bloodaxe, 2015) and The Tiny Journalist (BOA Editions, Ltd., 2019), from which this poem comes.
With thanks to Natalie Jabbar and Chris Rose for inspiring this idea.
